sendaflare (“sendaflare,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Dail LLC, based in the United States.

sendaflare is a mobile application designed to help users coordinate real-time social activities through lightweight availability signals (“flares”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, process, and protect information when you use the sendaflare mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By using sendaflare, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand that we collect, use, disclose, and process information as described below. Your use of the Service is also subject to our Terms of Service.

1. Overview

We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, secure, and provide the Service.

sendaflare does not currently sell personal information or use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under applicable California privacy laws.

sendaflare does not collect precise GPS location data unless explicitly disclosed and enabled in a future version of the Service.

sendaflare does not perform background location tracking.

sendaflare is not intended for emergency services, safety-critical communications, or emergency coordination.

sendaflare relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers to help operate portions of the Service, including hosting, authentication, notifications, security, reliability, and product-support services.

Features described in this Privacy Policy may change, expand, be modified, or be discontinued over time as the Service evolves.

2. Information We Collect

a. Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Email address

  • Username and display name

  • Authentication-related information necessary to create, verify, secure, and access your account

b. Public Profile Information

Certain basic profile information may be visible to other logged-in users as part of the Service, including your username, display name, and information reasonably necessary to support friend search, flare sender/recipient display, and social interaction features.

c. Social & Interaction Data

To provide core app functionality, we collect information relating to interactions within the app, including:

  • Friends or connections you add

  • flares sent and received

  • Activity categories associated with flares (for example: eat, hangout, game)

  • Timestamps of interactions

  • Whether flares are accepted, ignored, declined, or expire

  • Blocking or removal actions between users

d. Usage Data

We may collect limited usage-related information to operate, maintain, improve, secure, and understand the Service, including:

  • Frequency of app usage

  • General activity timing patterns

  • Interaction and response timing

  • Feature engagement information

  • Notification interaction and event information

  • General usage trends

e. Device & Technical Information

We may collect limited technical information necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including:

  • Device type where needed for notification support

  • Operating system platform where needed for notification support

  • App version where available

  • Timezone information

  • Push notification tokens or identifiers needed to deliver notifications

  • Notification permission and preference information

Limited technical and standard server request information may be processed by our infrastructure and service providers for security, reliability, diagnostics, and operations.

Timezone information may indirectly reflect a general geographic region or local time zone, but sendaflare does not use timezone information to determine a user’s precise physical location.

f. Notifications Data

If enabled, we may send push notifications relating to:

  • Incoming flares

  • flare responses and updates

  • Suggestions or reminders related to app usage

  • Service-related announcements

Notification timing and suggestions may be based on prior in-app interaction patterns, generalized usage activity, and app engagement signals.

Certain suggestions and timing recommendations may be generated automatically using algorithmic systems based on generalized interaction patterns.

Notifications are only sent if permission has been granted through device or operating system settings.

Users may revoke notification permissions at any time through their device or operating system settings.

Push notifications may be delivered through third-party services such as Apple Push Notification Service (“APNs”), Firebase Cloud Messaging, or similar providers.

Notification delivery timing is not guaranteed and may vary due to device settings, operating systems, internet connectivity, third-party infrastructure, or technical issues outside sendaflare’s control.

Users may manage certain notification preferences within the app where supported.

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

Unless explicitly disclosed in a future version of the Service, sendaflare does not intentionally:

  • Collect precise GPS location data

  • Perform background location tracking

  • Continuously monitor device activity

  • Monitor conversations outside the app

  • Access contacts without permission

  • Use facial recognition, biometric identification, or voice analysis technologies

Users should not use sendaflare to share sensitive, confidential, financial, medical, governmental, or personally identifying information.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Financial account information

  • Government identification numbers

  • Medical or health information

  • Passwords

  • Highly confidential personal information

4. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Operate and provide the Service

  • Enable flare sending and responses

  • Deliver notifications you choose to receive

We may also use generalized historical in-app interaction patterns to:

  • Provide optional timing suggestions related to flare activity

  • Suggest potentially helpful times to send flares

Certain features may use automated systems, generalized in-app interaction patterns, or similar signals to provide optional suggestions, reminders, recommendations, or timing-related insights. These features are approximate in nature and may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or outdated.

Suggestions and timing indicators are provided for informational and convenience purposes only and should not be relied upon as factual or real-time representations of another user’s availability, activity, location, responsiveness, or intentions.

sendaflare does not guarantee that users are available, responsive, nearby, interested in meeting, actively using the Service, or likely to respond to flares.

sendaflare does not use precise GPS tracking, background location monitoring, or monitoring activities outside the app for these features.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to analyze trends, improve features, develop new functionality, support analytics, and understand overall product usage.

Aggregated or de-identified information is intended not to identify, be linked to, or reasonably be associated with a particular user, account, device, household, friend graph, or exact personal activity history. sendaflare may use third-party technologies, software development kits (“SDKs”), infrastructure providers, authentication providers, notification services, and similar technologies to support:

  • Reliability and performance

  • Security and fraud prevention

  • Product improvement

These technologies may process limited technical, usage-related, or operational information, such as:

  • Push notification tokens or identifiers needed to deliver notifications

  • Device type and operating system where needed for notification support

  • App version where available

  • Notification interaction data

  • General app usage and feature interaction information

  • Diagnostic, reliability, or standard server request information where applicable

This information helps us maintain, improve, secure, and optimize the Service.

We do not use these technologies to track users across unrelated third-party apps or services for advertising purposes.

If sendaflare introduces cookies, advertising technologies, analytics SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, or similar tracking technologies in the future, we will take reasonable steps intended to comply with applicable legal and disclosure requirements.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce agreements, and protect the security and integrity of the Service.

Users may request deletion of their account through available in-app functionality where supported or by contacting us using the contact information below.

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal information and user-linked app data associated with your account from our active systems within 30 days, unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, abuse-prevention, dispute-resolution, or compliance purposes.

Account deletion may remove or de-identify information such as your profile, preferences, social connections, flares, flare recipient records, notification records, push tokens, and other user-linked active app data associated with your account.

When you delete your account, we may retain a minimal deletion or compliance record for legal, security, fraud-prevention, compliance, and backup/restore safety purposes. This record is limited to basic information needed to document and manage the deletion request, such as internal identifiers, deletion timing, deletion status, and request source. It does not include your email, username, display name, friends, flares, notification content, push notification tokens, or activity history.

We may retain aggregate or de-identified analytics, such as total flares sent, activity category totals, response totals, feature usage totals, and overall app usage trends, where that information does not identify you and is not reasonably linkable to you, your device, your account, your household, your friend graph, or your exact personal activity history.

Deleted information may remain in backups for a limited period before those backups expire or are overwritten according to our normal backup retention practices. Backups are maintained for security, legal/compliance, disaster recovery, and system recovery purposes only. We do not use backup data for day-to-day app activity, analytics, aggregate metrics, personalization, recommendations, product insights, or growth analysis. If we restore a backup, we will take reasonable steps to ensure previously deleted account data is not reintroduced into active systems.

Information previously delivered to or seen by other users may not be removable from their devices, screenshots, notifications, or records outside our active systems.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries outside your state, province, or country of residence, including the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

By using sendaflare, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions.

Where required by applicable law, we take reasonable steps intended to help protect transferred information through contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have rights to:

  • Access your personal information

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of information

  • Object to certain processing activities

  • Withdraw consent where applicable

California residents may also have rights to know, access, correct, or delete certain personal information under applicable California privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended.

sendaflare does not currently sell personal information or use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under applicable California privacy laws.

11. User controls

Users may control certain aspects of their experience through available app settings, device settings, and in-app features.

Depending on the functionality available, these controls may include managing notification permissions or preferences, blocking or removing other users, choosing whether to receive flares from users who are not on their friend list, and choosing whether to interact with flares or other social features.

Blocking features, preference settings, and other user controls may reduce interactions, but they may not prevent all forms of contact, interaction, historical visibility, previously delivered notifications, or activity that occurred before the setting was changed.

12. User Content, Social Interactions & Responsibility

Users are responsible for the information, activity, and interactions they choose to share through sendaflare.

By submitting content through sendaflare, users grant sendaflare a limited license to host, process, store, reproduce, and display such content solely as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, secure, and provide the Service.

Users should avoid sharing sensitive, confidential, unlawful, harmful, or inappropriate information through the Service.

Users are solely responsible for their interactions and decisions relating to in-person meetings, hangouts, or activities arranged through the Service.

Users should exercise appropriate judgment and personal safety precautions when interacting or meeting with others through the Service.

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their use of the Service and interactions with others comply with applicable laws and regulations.

sendaflare does not conduct background checks, identity verification, or screening of users unless explicitly stated otherwise.

sendaflare does not guarantee:

  • User availability

  • Notification delivery timing

  • Responses from other users

  • Accuracy of suggestions or recommendations

  • Reliability of timing-related suggestion features

  • Social interactions, compatibility, meetings, friendships, or in-person outcomes between users

Information, suggestions, timing indicators, and activity insights provided through the Service may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or outdated.

While sendaflare may provide blocking or moderation-related features, we do not guarantee the conduct, identity, intentions, or behavior of users.

We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to review, remove, restrict, moderate, investigate, suspend, or terminate accounts, content, usernames, or interactions at our discretion.

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, remove, or terminate accounts, content, usernames, or interactions that violate our policies, create safety or legal risks, involve abuse or harassment, or otherwise misuse the Service.

We may investigate reports of abuse, harassment, impersonation, illegal activity, or violations of our policies and may remove content or restrict accounts where appropriate.

13. Service Availability

sendaflare is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation of the Service, delivery or timing of notifications, availability of users, response times, or accuracy of timing-related suggestions or insights.

Notification delivery may depend on third-party providers, device settings, operating systems, internet connectivity, and other factors outside our control.

Push notifications may also be delayed, blocked, suppressed, or unavailable due to device settings, operating system behavior, battery optimization, network conditions, or third-party provider limitations.

Features and functionality may change, be interrupted, limited, or become unavailable at any time.

sendaflare should not be relied upon for emergency communications, urgent coordination, personal safety monitoring, or time-sensitive critical communications.

Users should not use sendaflare while driving, operating machinery, or engaging in activities requiring full attention.

14. Safety & Acceptable Use

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that:

  • Violate applicable laws

  • Infringe the rights of others

  • Impersonate individuals

  • Engage in harassment, abuse, or harmful conduct

  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data

  • Create safety, legal, or security risks for users or the Service

15. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to help protect information, including access controls, authentication measures, database access rules, and separation of certain public profile information from private account settings where appropriate.

However, no method of transmission, storage, or electronic processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their devices, passwords, login credentials, and account access. Users are also responsible for activity occurring under their account.

16. Age Requirement

sendaflare is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old.

By creating an account or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.

We do not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to use the Service or knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that an individual under 18 has created an account or provided personal information, we may suspend or delete the account and associated data.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If material changes are made, we may notify users through the app, website, or other appropriate means before the changes become effective.

Your continued use of the Service after updates become effective means that you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.

18. Website (Landing Page)

sendaflare’s website is informational only and primarily directs users to download the mobile application through relevant app stores.

The website currently does not provide account creation, social interaction, or core application functionality.

sendaflare’s website does not currently intentionally use advertising trackers or cross-site behavioral advertising technologies.

Limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and standard server request information may still be processed automatically by hosting, infrastructure, security, or content delivery providers as part of normal website operations.

If sendaflare introduces cookies, analytics tools, or similar technologies in the future, we will take reasonable steps intended to comply with applicable legal and disclosure requirements.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through the website unless voluntarily provided by the user.

19. App Stores & Third-Party Platforms

The sendaflare mobile application may be distributed through third-party platforms such as the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Your use of those platforms may also be subject to their respective privacy policies and terms.

sendaflare is not responsible for the privacy, security, or data handling practices of third-party platforms or services not operated by us.
